SMOTHERS--Mrs. Eunice M. Smothers, 40, of 407 North Pleasant, Independence, died yesterday at the General Hospital after an illness of three months. Mrs. Smothers was born in Memphis and moved to Kansas City about ten years ago at the time of her marriage. Surviving are her husband, Charles L. Smothers, and a stepson, Guy Edward Smothers of the home, two sisters, Mrs. Leonard Berry, Memphis, and Mrs. William Carpenter, Torrance, Calif. and three brothers, C. L. Swanger, J. H. Swanger and J. W. Swanger of Memphis. Services will be at 2 o'clock Monday at the Quirk & Tokin Chapel. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery.
