ANDREW J. SWANGER--Memphis Marine dies in California Naval Hospital--The body of Pfc. Andrew J. Swanger, Memphis Marine who died, Tuesday morning at a naval hospital at Oakland, Calif, will arrive in Memphis tomorrow afternoon. Services will be held at Cosmopolitan Funeral Home at 2 Tuesday afternoon. Burial will be in National Cemetery. He was 31. Born in Michigan, Private Swanger lived most of his life in Memphis. He was a truck driver for Layne Central Co. prior to entering the Army. He was honarably discharged from the Army after a year's service, and was employed as driver by Dixie Greyhound Lines a few months until he returned to war as a Marine two years ago. He was a Baptist. Surviving are three brothers, J.H., C.L., and Joe W. Swanger, all of Memphis; three sisters, Mrs. Leonard Berry of Memphis and Mrs. James Carpenter and Mrs. E. C. Funeral services will be held at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, 1900 Union Avenue, this Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'colck. Friends are invited. Interment in National Cemetry.
