"John Schroeder - John Floyde Schroeder, 51, of 806 Adams, was killed in a car accident Saturday about 5:30 p.m. on K-96, east of Albert. Born Aug. 14, 1912 near Pawnee Rock. He worked for the F-H and B Contracting Co. of Great Bend the past 13 years.

He was a member of the Legion and was a WWII Veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, of the home; two sons, James and John; two daughters, Nancy and Karla; his mother, Mrs. Henry H. (Katie) Schroeder, 908 Williams; six brothers, Myron, Turlock, Calif., Bethel Redwood, Calif. Lee, Great Bend; Harvey and Willard, Wichita; Howard, Indiaola, Neb; seven sisters, Mrs. Roy (Edna) Saylor and Mrs. James (Opal) Queen, Great Bend; Mrs. Fred (Helen) Olds, of Lyons, Mrs. Ben (Ester) Thrasher, Hutchinson, Mrs. J.IW. (Doris) Pipkin, Midland, Tex.; Mrs. Garland (Ethel) Dills, Orlando, Fla.; and Mrs. Russell (Alice) Spaniol.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. from Cook and Weaver Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Stenson officiating with burial in the Dundee Valley Cemetery with Military honors."

John lived to age 51.
