Wyley Moyer/Moyers was the son of Mathias and Mary Polly Collins Moyer of Jefferson County, Tennessee. Wyley's father Mathias died when he was only 2 years old and his mother, Mary remarried later in the same year his father died and so Wyley was really raised by his stepfather Andrew Powell Gass and mom Mary. Wyley married Sarah Jane "Sallie" Jones in Rhea County, Tennessee on August 16, 1832. The family continued to live in TN for the next 40 or so years and were parents of 12 children. In 1870 they were found living in Rhea County census report but sometime after that they were in Limestone County, Alabama where Wyley died. It isn't known as to where Wyley is buried however, his wife Sallie and three of their daughters are buied in Wallace Cemetery in Limestone County, Alabama. It is possible that he is buried next to his wife w/o a stone as there is an empty space between her and one daughter. Wyley's descendants are found in TN, Ala and GA some going by Moyer and some going by Moyers.
