Elizabeth E. Moyers was the daughter of Wyley and Sarah Jane "Sallie" Jones Moyers. She was born in Tennessee and came to Limestone County with her parents sometime after the 1870 census where she was found living in the household of her parents in Rhea County, Tennessee.
She married William H. Preston on June 21, 1876 in Limestone County, Alabama and they had 3 children, Mary, Sallie A. and William Lee Jessie Preston. Before her death in 1897, Elizabeth's mother Sallie Moyers, a widow of 25 years lived w/ Elizabeth and her family. Along with Elizabeth, Wallace Cemetery is the resting place for her sister, Sallie Pauline Moyers Rector and her husband Jessie Rector and sister, Nancy K "Nannie K" Moyers Baker. Nancy's husband, Henry H. Baker is buried next to his first wife Martha C Moon Baker in Ripley Cemetery. Also buried in Ripley Cemetery is William Preston, Elizabeth's husband and his second wife Rosie Webb Preston.
