Funeral services will be held Friday, January 23, 1953, for Herbert Franklin Cockerham, 58, of Springhill, at 12 o'clock in the Old Union Church at Joyce.

The deceased is a native of Winn Parish. He was the son of the late H. M. and Mrs. Piety Cockerham of Alexandria. He was born March 18, 1896 and died January 20, 1953. He was a member of the Baptist Church and Eastern Star Lodge No. 151, F. & A. M. of Winnfield. He was employed as a mechanic and welder in Minden.

He is survived by his wife, five daughters, and one son of Springhill; three sisters and four brothers. Sisters are Mrs. Howard Drewett, Winnfield; Mrs. Dee Franklin and Mrs. Bill LeBlanc, Houma. Brothers are Rev. J. A. Cockerham, Winnfield; Arnold Cockerham, Shreveport; Jack Cockerham, Joyce; and David Cockerham, Jonesville.

Rev. Aaron Gorham and Rev. Holt, pastor of Old Union will officiate at the funeral services.
