Werner J. Mayer, age 54, of Richfield died on Thursday, May 12, in the U.S. Veterans Hospital at Fort Snelling.
He was born in New Prague, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mayer, Sr., both deceased.
He attended the New Prague public schools and later served in the armed forces during World War II. He was employed by a large Minneapolis nursery and floral firm.
He is survived by his widow, Frieda, and a son, Walter, both of Richfield; a brother, Delbert of Willmar; and three sister, Mrs. Orville Estenson of Sauk Rapids, Mrs. Donald (Evelyn) Vanasek of New Prague and Mrs. Leonard Stanek of Montgomery.
Funeral services were held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock with interment in Fort Snelling National Cemetery
