PERRY HERALD, January 12, 1944
Almon Gamet, 84, died Thursday, January 6, 1944, in Warsaw Hospital of complications following a fall in which he broke his hip. Born August 25, 1859 in Oneonta, the son of Salmon and Eliza Jane Spoor Gamet. One of two children, his brother, Frank, was born seven years later to the day. He spent his younger days in Woodhull and on October 30, 1882 he was united in marriage to Hattie B. Lathrop. He is survived by his daughters, Julia Smith, Ruth Laurence both of Ossining, Ida Gamet of Perry, Hattie Wilkins of Dansville; a son George Gamet of Roselle, N.J.; 3 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A son, Charles, died in the 1920 flu epidemic. Funeral services from Conrad's Funeral Home with Rev. Arthur S. Wright. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Gainesville.
