August 30, 1928--The remains of Carl Fiester, son of Oscar and Mary Fiester, were brought here from New York City for burial in Maple Grove, Gainesville. He was 58 years old and had been an invalid for some time. His wife, Fannie Hall Fiester and sister, Mrs. Hattie Kugler of Flemington, NY accompanied the body. He leaves another sister, Mrs. Fanny VanHoesen of Silver Springs.

PERRY HERALD, August 29, 1928:
Upon recipt of a telegram to Mrs. Eugene VanHoesen a week ago Saturday stating her brother, Carl Fiester of Richmond Hill, Long Island, was critically ill following an operation, Mrs. A. B. Kugler of Flemington, N. J., a sister, who was here visiting, left at once. Mr. Fiester passed away the following night, Sunday, August 19th. He was a former Gainesville resident and lived for a time on the farm west of the village, now Fuch property. The body was brought to Gainesville for interment in the family plot in Maple Grove Cemetery. Rev. J. G. Snyder officiated.
