December 24, 1894--Wyoming County Herald--Mr. Seth Allen, a valued citizen of Gainesville died on Thursday last. He was born in Penfield in 1834 being of a large family of which few are living. He ran a store for many years. He leaves a wife, Lousia Prine Allen, but no children; a niece, Jenny Allen who lived with him for several years.
