Peggy W. Stansell, 71, of 104 Summer Street, wife of Ralph Stansell, died Tuesday, February 24, 2009, at Palmetto Health Baptist, Easley.

Born in Greenville County, a daughter of the late Lenny Wilson and Beulah Leopard Crain, she was a homemaker and a member of Brushy Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, Kenneth (Irene) Crain of Anderson; two stepsons; two stepdaughters; two brothers, Leroy Leopard of Six Mile and Buford Crain of Kodak, Tenn.; one sister, Helen Smather of Canton, N.C.; and one grandchild, Lisa Clendenin.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Joyce Duvall; and a stepson, Billy Stansell.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Brushy Creek Baptist Church, with Revs. Jim Spencer and Rodney Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.

The family is at the home.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 100 Clay Street, Easley, SC 29642 for the Samaritan's Purse Shoe Box Fund.
