Christopher Columbus Richardson, 71, a lifelong resident of Russell County, Va., died suddenly at his home at Swords Creek, Va., yesterday morning. Death was attributed to a heart condition.

Mr. Richardson was born in Russell County, the son of the late Albert and Rachael McGlothlin Richardson. He was educated in the county's free schools and followed the vocation of farming.

He is survived by his wife, the former Myrtle Sick, and the following children: Lawrence and James, both of Swords Creek. Mrs. Edith Plaster, Swords Creek and Mrs. Rosa Jackson of Cedar Bluff, Va. Also surviving is one brother Floyd Richardson, of Swords Creek.

Funeral services will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock from the residence with the Rev. Albert Ball officiating, assisted by the Rev. Perry Herndon. Interment will follow in the family cemetery at Swords Creek.

The body was removed from Farmer Funeral Home to the residence yesterday afternoon.
