James W. John Richardson, 51, of Swords Creek, Va., died in a Richlands, Va., hospital Tuesday following a short illness. He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Sisk Richardson of Swords Creek; two sisters, Mrs. Edith Plaster of Swords Creek and Rosie Jackson of Richlands; one brother, Lawrence Richardson of Swords Creek.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. at the Pine Creek Church and burial will follow in the family cemetery at Pine Creek. Friends may call at Mullins Funeral Home in Richlands.
