Mamie Evelyn Proctor Moody, 77, born 3 Feb 1921, of Brunswick, died Monday nigh, 7 Dec 1998, at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center in Brunswick, following a long illness.

A native of Pierce County, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carswell Hershwell Moody. Her parents were the late David Calvin Proctor and Elizabeth Emma "Lizzie" Clark Proctor. She was a homemaker and a member of the Waynesville Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Norma Sue Kegley of Harvey, LA and Naomi Lipthratt of Brunswick; two sisters, Myrtle Goodwin of Waynesville and Adeline Tindall of Brunswick; a brother, Ward Proctor of Atkinson; four grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 17, from the chapel of Chambless Funeral Home with Rev. John Horton officiating.

Songs were "Because He Lives," and "Amazing Grace."

Pallbearers were Roy Burcham, Dick Farrell, Kelly Lipthratt, and Keith Lipthratt.

Interment followed in Highsmith Cemetery in Waynesville.

Chambless Funeral Home of Nahunta was in charge of arrangements.
