Houston was 6ft. 7in. at age 11.

Houston was the grandson of Austin Beasley, Jr. (of Duplin County, North Carolina and later Dale County, Alabama) and Eleanor Reed Powell.
Great-grandson of Pvt. Austin Beasley, Sr.
(a Revolutionary War Soldier & large land owner), and Polly Mary Hollingsworth Carroll Beasley.

Albert Houston Beasley, born September 13, 1884 at Maverick Springs, Brown County Texas. "On the trail" to New Mexico: died July 1, 1954 of heart failure. Buried Mesquite, New Mexico. Houston delayed marriage until 52 (like his older brother Austin who married at 55). Houston married Ida Elizabeth Williams Stephens, with 3 children on December 27, 1936. May Beasley, wife of Chester Arthur Beasley, had a comment about Houston and his step-children. "Houston took his step-children into his heart as if they were his own and really loved them all dearly. There was a boy, 'Pony', and two girls, Edna and Grace. When they married, our daughter, Virginia was 12 years old, the same age as Grace and she was a little 'miffed' at having to share her uncle with Grace. Edna (Walling) of Wichita, Kansas is now deceased; Pony and wife live in Midland, Texas; and Grace (Bullard), now widowed, lives in Las Cruces, NM." Per the obituary of 1954, Pony kept his name Stevens and lived in Tyler, Texas.(Info Per the Beasley Connection volume 2: (this portion written about 1984)(sent by Mark Arthur Beasley of Edgewood, New Mexico to Kenneth Ned Beasley on March 22, 2010).

(Recorded by: K. Ned Beasley of Rural Hall, North Carolina, 2nd cousin three times removed & Mark Beasley of Edgewood, New Mexico, great-nephew)
