"Old John" Dixon, son of William and Mary Dixon, NC, husband of Elizabeth Boyd Dixon, one of three wives. He was believed to be the brother of Jedediah, Josiah, Matthew, Anne ,(husb. Martin Perry), Eunice (Warner, husb. John), and Keziah (Smith, husb. Benjamin).

He is the father of seventeen children that include, Nancy Brinson Dixon, Aaron B. Dixon, William Dixon, John Boyd Dixon, Joseph Blaine Dixon, Columbus Franklin "Dock" Dixon, James Monroe Dixon, and twin Fountain Dixon, Sarah Rebecca Dixon-Hollis, Mary E. Dixon, Jonathan M. Dixon. His second wife Mary Foster Dixon, was the mother of Jesse B., Elizabeth F., Thomas M., Martha B., Manerva Ella, an Mariam Dixon. John was married a third time. May " Old John" rest in peace.
