Charles Corey Hartford,
Yoncalla Resident, Dies
Charles Corey Hartford, 81, a resident of Yoncalla for the last six months, died there at the home of his son, Charles C. Hartford, Monday, April 7, after a short illness.
He was born in Omaha, Neb., and has resided in that state for almost his lifetime. He was married to Miss Clara B. Walker Dec. 5, 1893, at Page, Neb. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Surviving, besides the widow, are the son and five grandchildren. A brother and two sisters, E. P. Hartford, Page, Neb., Mrs Ella Sproul, Battle Ground, Wash., and Mrs Sarah Evans, Venus, Neb., also survive.
Services will be held in the Methodist Church, Yoncalla, Friday at 2 P.M. The Rev. H. P. Sconce will officiate. Interment will be in Yoncalla Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of Stearns Mortuary, Oakland.

Charley & Clara Hartford homesteaded about two miles north of Venus, Nebraska. They made their home in this vicinity until they moved to Page, Nebraska in the spring of 1925.
They made their home in Page (with the exception of five years that was spent in Rock County) until 1946, when due to ill health they moved to Yoncalla, Oregon to live with their son, Cecil and family.
