EX PAGE MAN DIES SEPT 14 IN KANSAS
Page--Elisha Prim Hartford was born Feb 24,1858 in Illinois and died at his son's home in Piper, Kansas, Sept 14, 1949 at the age of 91 years, 6 months and 20 days.
While a small child he moved with his parents to Mills Co, Iowa and later to Waterloo, Nebr. in 1864.
He united with the Christian Church in Waterloo when he was 17 years old.
On Feb 22,1888 he was united in marriage to Mary Idella Wooley, who passed away in 1930.
He farmed northeast of Page from 1895 to 1921 and ran a shoe repair shop in Page from 1921 to 1936. He retired in 1936.
Those left to mourn his loss are four sons and one daughter -- Charles Otto Hartford, Bonestee, SD; Lester of Piper, Kan; Allen of Norfolk, Nebr; Ray of Corvallis, Oregon; Mrs Dave (Mae) Culp of Lincoln, Nebr. Two sisters, Mrs Eline Sproul of Battleground, WA; Mrs Sarah Evans of Venus, Nebr; 20 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist Church in Page at 2 o'clock Mon afternoon with Rev T O Brownfield officiating. Burial was in Page Cem.
Pallbearers were Oscar Reed, R D Copes, E A Walker, C M Stevens, Dave Bowen, and J I Gray.
Singers were Mrs Raymond Heiss and Mrs Harold Heiss with Mrs Harold Kelley pianist. Mrs Alton Braddock and Mrs Melvin Smith had charge of the flowers.
Those from out of town who attended the funeral sercives were Mr and Mrs Otto Hartford, Bonesteel, SD; Lester Hartford of Piper, Kansas; Allen Hartford, Norfolk, Nebr; Mrs Dave Culp, Lincoln; Cora Hartford of Madison; Mr and Mrs Ernst Hartford and baby, Primrose; Mrs San Evans and son, Venus; Mr and Mrs Guy Ernest, Creighton; Mr and Mrs George Hartford and Mrs Dick Robertson, O'Neill; Mr and Mrs Maden Funk, Ewing.
