Lake City - Services for Marshall Ray Altman, 73, will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 1, 2003 at Lake City First Baptist Church with burial in Lake City Memorial Park. Brockington Funeral Home is in charge. Memorials may be made to Lake City First Baptist Church Family Life Center, P.O. Box 820, Lake City, SC 29560 or to a charity of one's choice. Mr. Altman died Thursday, February 27, 2003 in a Florence hospital after an illness. Born in Hemingway, he was a son of the late John Briley Altman Jr. and Juanita Eaddy Altman. He was a graduate of Johnsonville High School, owner and operator of Marshall's Marine and a farmer. He was a member of Lake City First Baptist Church and Abram's Sunday School Class. He was a member of Lake City Lodge #193 A.F.M., an Omar Shriner and past president of the Lake City Country Club Homeowners Association. Mr. Altman received the Order of the Silver Crescent in 2001 from Governor Jim Hodges and the South Lynches Fire Department Citizen of the Year Award for 2003. Surviving are his wife, Betty White Altman of Lake City; sons, Steve L. (Deborah) Altman, R. Stewart (Joan) Altman and Marshall E. (Celeste) Altman, all of Lake City; grandsons, Jason (Brandi) Altman, Justin (Jeanette) Altman, Wade Altman, Taylor Altman and Collin Altman, all of Lake City, Travis Altman of Seneca, Ray Altman and Travis (Tammy) Copeland, both of Columbia; granddaughters, Megan Altman of Scranton and Caitlin Altman of Lake City; great-granddaughter, Haleigh Altman of Coward; brothers, Charles Altman of Lake City and Bobby Altman of Johnsonville; sisters, Eleida Bartell of Indiantown and Jeanette Wesley of Marion; special dog, Bear
