Eleida Altman Bartell HEMINGWAY, SC - Mrs. Eleida Altman Bartell, 83, widow of John H. Bartell, Sr., passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at McLeod Hospice House in Florence. Born December 29, 1927 in the Vox community, she was the daughter of the late John Briley Altman and the late Juanita Eaddy Altman. Mrs. Bartell was a homemaker and a graduate of Johnsonville High School. A member of Indiantown Presbyterian Church, she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Night Circle. Survivors include her son, Johnny Bartell (Angela); her daughter, Susan Yarborough; grandchildren, John H. Bartell, III, Stan (Donna) Yarborough, Jon (Stephanie) Yarborough; great-grandchildren, Hampton, Libby Claire, and Russell; brother, Charles (Shirley) Altman; and sisters-in-law, Betty Altman and Johnny Ruth Altman. Mrs. Bartell was pre-deceased by brothers, Marshall Ray Altman, and Bobby Altman; and sister, Jeanette A. Wesley. Graveside services, conducted by Morris Funeral Home of Hemingway, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Indiantown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
