She also helped with many community projects in the Dells area, including raising funds to build a train depot, refurbishing the Bowman House, publishing a history of the Dells area, as part of the Dells Country Historical Society, and building a bandshell in Bowman Park.

She was a longtime member of the Fireside Homemakers Club and a devoted volunteer at the Kilbourn Public Library where she especially enjoyed producing creative and educational window displays. Donna was a longstanding member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She was an enthusiastic reader for the Head Start program, and enjoyed flower gardening and playing bridge.

Donna is survived by her husband, Jack; brothers, Richard (Delphine) Patterson, Charles (Joan) Patterson and John (Ruth) Patterson; children; grandchildren. The family hosted a French foreign exchange student, Christiane (Cahuzac) Castaing, and remained close to her throughout the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a young brother, Jimmy; and a beloved sister, Betty Lou (Hagen).

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 30, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at ST. CECILIA'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, Wisconsin Dells, with Father Felix Oehrlein officiating. Internment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Wisconsin Dells.
