YEAR'S ILLNESS PROVES FATAL TO THEODORE LUHN

Theodore "Teddie" Luhn, 73, prominent Kenney resident, long time cattleman and business man there, died at 5:55 a.m. Friday, June 2, after an illness of a year.

A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Julius H. Luhn, he was born at Kenney November 4, 1887. He attended the Kenney school, and was a Veteran of World War I, as well as a member of the Bellville American Legion Post.

Mr. Luhn was a member of the Bellville Methodist Church, and the Kenney W.O.W. (Woodsmen of the World).

Funeral rites were held at the Etlinger Funeral home chapel in Bellville at 4 p.m. June 3, with the Rev. W. A. Menking officiating and with the Etlinger in charge of arrangements.

Interment was at Oak Knoll, with Nelson and Walter McNutt, Felix, Ervin and Roger Luhn and Beverly Brown serving as pallbearers.

Mr. Luhn's first marriage was to Mrs. Carrie Blum, in September of 1921. Following her death December 13, 1953, he was married to Mrs. Carrie Knight, July 4, 1957.

Surviving are his wife; one step-daughter, Mrs. Frank Bergeruon of Houston; five step-sons, Robert Blum of Kenney, Louis Blum of Houston, Sgt. Robert A. Allen in Foreign Service with the military, Joe Knight of Beaumont and William Knight of Dallas; one sister, Mrs. Jim McNutt of Bellville, and two brothers, Paul and Felix Luhn of Kenney.
