Iris is the daughter of Lewis Adam Goodwin and Thisbe Alicia Hanks. Her siblings are: Raymond Hanks Goodwin, Lewis Victor Goodwin, Walter Isaac Goodwin, Glen Kay Goodwin, Bryce Elijah Goodwin, Lorel McEwen Goodwin, Betty Lou (Christiansen) Goodwin, David Arlow Goodwin and Gladys Beth (Williams) Goodwin. The last four siblings survive her. Iris married Royal Anderson Bagley in the Manti Temple on September 24, 1943.
Iris was an active member of the LDS Church. Iris served in number of Church organizations. She served as a Primary and Relief Society president.
Iris's life is marked by her service to her husband, family and service to others. For example, after the un-timely death of the wife of her Uncle Urban Hanks, Iris spent two years as a surrogate mother to his younger children in Grover, Utah.
Iris is known for her sharp wit and feisty personality. You always knew where you stood with her. She was a spiritual leader to her family and always assured and encouraged them when they were doing the right thing and wasn't shy about pointing out areas that needed improvement.
Iris is survived by her children: Roger Bagley (Jenna Peterson), Tooele, Utah; Laura Ann Bagley (Leonard Blackham), Moroni, Utah; Bruce Royal Bagley (Bonnie Wilson), Clarkston, Utah; Janice Bagley (Kay Nelson), Moroni, Utah; Beth June Bagley (McArthur), Moroni, Utah; Lynn Goodwin Bagley (Marilyn Robertson), Moroni, Utah; Darrel Murray Bagley (Lori Anderson), Moroni, Utah, and Nathaniel Bobby Bowman, Navajo foster son - (Leisa Shepard), Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Iris has seven children, one foster son and 35 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 11:00 a.m. in the Moroni Stake Center. Friends may call on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services at the Moroni Stake Center. Interment will be in the Moroni City Cemetery.
