Betty Lou Goodwin Christiansen
1932 - 2017

Early Life: Betty was born December 19, 1932, in Bicknell, Utah, to Lewis Adams and Thisbe Alicia Hanks Goodwin, their eighth child. Betty's childhood years were spent in Grover, Wayne County, Utah, where she attended grade school and graduated from Wayne High School. She loved growing up on a farm and cherished her pony "Red Wing."
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Following high school, Betty's family moved to Ephraim, Utah, where she attended and graduated from Snow College. While attending college, Betty met Kent Harry Christiansen; they married in the Manti Utah Temple on March 5, 1954. Over the course of their 63 years together, Betty and Kent lived in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Arizona and Utah. Together, they raised six children: Kent Lewis (Gwen), Brent Goodwin (Laurie), Randy Jule (MaryAnn), Andrew (Cheryl), Jason Wade (Kimberlie), Teresa Kaye Sumner (Matt). As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served in numerous callings. She retired from Intermountain Healthcare (Utah Valley Regional Medical Center) after 28 years of faithful service. She will be remembered for the many kindnesses she shared with those close to her and strangers alike. She particularly loved her calling as an ordinance worker in the Provo Utah Temple. Betty's service to others and her love of her Heavenly Father and her Savior were expressed on a daily basis in her words, actions and deeds throughout her life. From her birth to her passing on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, Betty Lou Goodwin Christiansen nourished people around her with love, faith and compassionate service.

Survived By: Her loving husband, her children and their spouses, 22 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren with one on the way, her brothers: Lorel (Marilyn) Goodwin and David (Lee Anne) Goodwin; her sister, Beth Williams; and numerous cherished relatives, friends, and co-workers whose lives Betty touched and enriched.
Preceded In Death By: Her parents, five brothers: Raymond, Victor, Walter, Glen and Bryce; and by her sister, Iris Goodwin Bagley; and one granddaughter, Juliette Christiansen.
