George was the sixth of eleven children born to James Boyd and Dora Belle (Kivett) Butler. He married Ruth Maxine Curtis in 1950 and they were the parents of one daughter: Georgia Annette.

LIBERTY - George B. Butler, 70, of 5148 South N. C. 49, Burlington, died Tuesday at Alamance County Hospital
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Mount Zion Baptist Church, of which he was a member.
Surviving are wife, Mrs. Ruth Curtis Butler, daughter, Mrs. Annette Butler Clark of Graham; sisters, Mrs. Vallie Ray, Mrs. Christine Shears, Mrs. Virginia Fonzo, Mrs. Frances McKinney, Mrs. Margaret Cheek, all of Liberty, brother, Frank Butler of Liberty.
The family will be at Loflin Funeral Home 7-9 p.m. today.
