Ellen May (Kimble) Oliver, 82, daughter of George Morgan and Hannah Pine (Garrigues) Kimble, was born on 21 November 1893 in Downs, Osborne Co., Kansas. She died on 29 January 1976. At 13, she moved with her parents, 5 brothers and 4 sisters to a farm east of Mulvane, and subsequently to the home in Mulvane where she was to spend most of her adult life.

After graduation from Mulvane High School, she went on to become a teacher and taught for about 8 years in the Mulvane area. In 1920, she was united in marriage to Elbert Lovelace Oliver. They had 4 children, Elizabeth, Elaine, Keith and Margaret.

In 1944, she returned to teaching and continued until her retirement in 1960. During this time, she raised a granddaughter, Janet Hartman Kilpatrick, now of Bethany, Missouri.

Her husband, Elbert, preceded her in death, Elaine, in 1954. She is survived by a son, Keith of Overland Park, Kansas, 2 daughters, Elizabeth Coleman of Mulvane, Margaret Richards of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Esther Trufelli of Wichita, 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren.
