Mrs. Susannah Armagost, widow of the late Thomas Armagost of Squirrel Hill, this county, died at the residence of her son-in-law, Dr. G. B. Woods, Curllsville, Pa., last Sunday evening Jan. 8, 1905 at 8 o'clock. Mrs. Armagost had not been well for some time, and recently gangrene attacked one of her feet, and so rapidly did it spread that the consulting physicians Drs. Woods of Curllsville, and Miller of Sligo, decided that the only chance to save her life was to amputate the diseased limb above the knee. This was done accordingly, the patient standing the operation heroically. But her system not being overly strong, other complications set in, and she passed away as above stated. Deceased was well known in this section and was a most lovable old lady. She was the mother of 13 children, 11 of whom survive; viz., Mrs. Mary Doverspike, Kansas; Mrs. Mattie Laughlin, Pittsburg; Mrs. Aggie Rechard, DuBois; Mrs. Philip Fox, Curllsville; Mrs. Dr. C. S. Mohney, Callensburg; W. M. Armagost, Rimersburg; Mrs. Dr. G. B. Woods, Curllsville; Mrs. Dr. A. M. Mohney, Rimersburg; Mrs. Alice Krotzer, Leatherwood; Mrs. J. B. Slaughenhopt, Washington, and H. S. Armagost, New Bethlehem. Her husband preceded her to the spirit world 8 years ago. Mrs. Armagost was in the 76 year of her age at the time of her death. She was a consistent member of the German Reformed church at Squirrel Hill for many years, and the funeral services were conducted there yesterday (Wednesday) by her pastor, Rev. Waugaman of Rimersburg, after which the body was laid tenderly to rest beside her husband in the Reformed cemetery. The sorrowing children have the sympathy of the entire community in their bereavement.

She was the daughter of Jacob and Susannah Hamm Hepler, born October 18, 1827.
