Mrs. Sara Sloan, of Hawthorn, Pa., departed this life on last Saturday, aged 68 years, 8 months and 26 days.
On Wednesday preceding her death she was stricken down with paralysis, and she sank rapidly until the end came.
Deceased was a most lovable old lady and was widely and favorably known. She was a member of the Presbyterian church.
She is survived by four children: viz., Norman J. and J. Frank, both of Hawthorn; Mrs. Flora Sloan Newcome, of Adrian, Pa., and Mrs. Pearl Sloan Space, of East Brady, Pa. Her husband, Wm. Sloan, died some years ago. She is also survived by four brothers and one sister.
The funeral services were held from the house, Tuesday forenoon of this week, and were conducted by Rev. J. L. Proudfit and Dr. McCurdy. Interment was made in the cemetery at Hawthorn.
