Mrs. Flora Sloan Newcome, wife of Dr. T. H. Newcome of Cowansville, died Tuesday morning, October 14, 1941 at her home. Mrs. Newcome, the daughter of William and Sally Sloan, was born and reared at Hawthorn. She was a sister of the late Frank and Norman Sloan of Hawthorn, and an aunt of H. H. Sloan of that place. Mrs. Newcome was a member of the Presbyterian Church, uniting when she was a resident of Hawthorn. She continued an active member as long as health permitted. She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Harry W. Alexander of Seaford, Delaware, and Mrs. R. M. Fair, Kittaning; three grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. P. S. Space of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held at the late residence Friday afternoon at two o'clock with the Reverend Francis B. Marks of the Cowansville Presbyterian Church in charge, assisted by the Reverend Charles W. Cochran of the Apollo Presbyterian Church. Burial was made in the Cowansville cemetery.
