John William Duncan Langley was born September 29, 1868. He was enrolled in the Cherokee rolls as 1/32 Cherokee, Roll #951. He and Hannah came to Going Snake District, Indian Territory, with their infant daughter, Sarah Luvenia. They settled approximately north of Mission Mountain. Joseph Oscar, Minnie Ester, Lock, and Jesse Robert Wester were born there. Z.T. (Little John) was born and died near Stilwell where they resided a short time. About 1900, they moved to Catoosa, Indian Territory, where Audie Eleanor, Maudie Lizzie Pearl, George Jefferson, Cora Jewel, and James Atwell were born.

Duncan and Hannah returned to Adair County in 1933, and located at Jaybird Springs, six miles northwest of Westville. Duncan died there August 20, 1936, and was buried at the Baptist Mission Cemetery. Hannah continued on the farm with her son, Jesse, until they moved to Avant in 1944, where she lived until her death in 1954.
