Born the son of Elijah Bingham (1783 – 1860) and Benetta Skeen Bingham (1801 – 1875), he married 23 Dec 1868 in Coweta Co., Ga. to Sarah J. Eason. In the 1880 census Jacob is shown living with his brother, William Alexander (Sandy) Bingham and William's wife, Nancy Jane Teasley Bingham in Coweta Co. with no mention of Jacob's wife Sarah so she may have died before then.
