Born the son of Elijah Bingham (1783 – 1860) and Benetta Skeen Bingham (1801 – 1875), he married Nancy Jane Teasley (1836 – 1906) and they may have had a son, Joe A. Bingham around 1865 although no further records can be found on Joe or Joseph A. Bingham at this time.
