The name of his wife is Martha Ann Hemphill A rubbing of her gravestone reads M.A.Marshall and the reading is actually 1833 instead of 1835.

The gravestones are actually fieldstones from the area and were placed there by a grandson. He also erected the fieldstone for Martha's mother, Elizabeth Long Hemphill Addison who died in the home of Wm. A.J.Marshall and his wife Martha Ann Hemphill who lived near Everton in Boone County. Elizabeth Addison's date of death was 21 February 1891.

There are gravestones for both Martha Ann Hemphill and her husband William A.J. Marshall at the Crawford Cemetery near Everton. Martha is next to her mother, Elizabeth Addison. John Forester Marshall (son of Martha and Wm. )and wife Rosetta O'Quinn is buried beside them. I made a rubbing and a photo of Martha's stone years ago and it was posted on internet without my permission, The stone for William is in sad shape but it is there.
