Minnie was an excellent seamstress and dressmaker. She was a student of Mrs. Redman in Seville. In 1898, following her father's death, her mother, Mary and brother Frank resided with her and her son William James Clark Jr. in Cleveland, Ohio.

She married, 26 Dec 1899 in Cleveland, Ohio, Andrew Allen Swagler, a son of Jonathon Swagler and Ann Elizabeth Werkheiser. Minnie and Andrew had three additional children. Emma Amanda, born 1901 in Wayne County; Allyn Elizabeth, born 1903 in Seville; Kathyrn "Marguerite", born 1914 in Rittman. The family of seven relocated to Doylestown in 1917, which included her mother, Mary who, quietly passed in 1920 at the age of 81. Minnie's children attended school in Doylestown until they moved to Barberton in 1921.

Minnie's daughter, Marguerite (Swagler) Bauer, has in her possession, the dairy in which, Minnie kept a record of her daily events. The following entries reflect the market prices in 1898: Sold one fancy dress: $3.75. Purchased: (1) loaf of bread 5 cents; (1) quart of milk 3 cents; (1) Easter basket and candy 40 cents; (1) pair stockings 25 cents; (1) pair of shoes $3; soap 20 cents; Car fare 10 cents.

After the death of her husband in 1943, Minnie removed to the residence of her daughter, Maurgerite, and son-in-law, Andy, in Seville until 1955. She continued her residency with the Bauer family in their new home on Rawiga Road in Rittman from 1955 to January of 1965. She had an unfortunate fall at her son's home in January of 1965, while her daughter, Minnie, was in the hospital. She was transported to the Rosy Rae Rest Home in Seville where she passed away on 14 October 1965. Her death was recorded as Minnie Swagler, age 93, white widowed female, of Medina County, died 14 October 1965 in Medina County, Ohio [Vol. 18233, Cert. 78153].
