The Anthon Herald, 17 June 1959:

James Henry Beeson, son of Thomas and Mary Beeson, was born June 23, 1884, at Danbury. He grew to manhood in that community and the vicinity of Oto. On December 13, 1904, he was married to Lottie C. Pierce in Correctionville and they moved on a farm near Danbury. Four years later they moved to a farm in the vicinity of Correctionville and they engaged in farming in this community until 1944, when they retired and moved to Correctionville, where they have resided ever since. Seven children were born to this marriage and all survive. Mr. Beeson was an active member of the school board of Kedron township and served as secretary and president of the board during his various terms of office. He had been a member of the board for over thirty years and was still a member t the time of his death. Mr. Beeson died in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee on Monday, June 8, 1959, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lottie Beeson of Correctionville and the seven children: Mrs. Archie (Ella) Thompson of Sioux City, Mrs. Thomas (Lenora) Murphy of Sioux City, Mrs. Lowell (Mayme) Hobbs of Moville, Mrs. Leroy (Opal) Bremer of Cushing, Lewis of Norwalk, California, Raymond and Harold of Correctionville, twenty-four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Paul of Washta and Richard of Sioux City. Services were held Thursday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at the Wilson-Hull funeral home with Rev. C.Q. Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Correctionville Cemetery.
