Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Archie James Vicknair, 36, who passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 as a result of a boating accident.
Entombment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula.
Rev. Donald Pelous pastor of St. Rita Catholic Church, will conduct the services.
Archie was a contract welder for Superior Derrick Services, LLC. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golf, swimming, working on motors and spending time with his family.
Archie will always be loved and missed by everyone.
Survivors include his wife, Mady Poche Vicknair of Catahoula; his parents, James Vicknair and Rosy Dell Talley Vicknair of Catahoula; his wife's parents, Roy and Catherine Poche of Catahoula; his son, Ridge Jude Vicknair of Catahoula; his daughter, Dru Elizabeth Vicknair of Catahoula; his brother, Wallace Vicknair and his wife, Anna of Henderson; his sisters, Alice Bienvenu and her husband, Mike of Catahoula, Connie Devillier of Catahoula, Kathy Borel and her husband, Dean of Catahoula, Lisa Vicknair Rush and her husband, Terry of Atlanta, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Terril Devillier; his paternal grandparents, Ernest Vicknair and Elodie Vicknair; his maternal grandparents, Cleveland Talley and Estelle Talley Vicknair.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 12:00 noon on Monday, November 17, 2008 until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Vicknair, Chris Poche, Isaac Bourque, Jimmy Blanchard, Brody Hulin and Aaron Champagne.
