Mrs. Lawther was a longtime member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church and its Blessed Sacrament Society.
She was a 1938 graduate of Canonsburg High School.
In 1946, she married Robert H. Lawther Jr, who died June 10, 1985.
She was a member and past president of American Legion 902 Ladies Auxiliary.
She last worked for John Dudt Bakery in Houston and previously for Continental Can Company, Marline's Dress Shop, and Canonsburg Credit Bureau.
Deceased are two sisters and two brothers, Genevieve (William C) Tomsic; Helen (Joseph) Grykowski; Edward J Skwarlo; and Joseph (Josephine M) Skwarlo.
Surviving are a brother, Walter Joseph (Margaret E) Skwarlo of DeSoto, Texas and a sister-in-law, Natalie Skwarlo of Florida; a great-niece and caregiver for the past 23 years, Joy Mader; and several other nieces and nephews.
Visitation was from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, June 8th, and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 9th in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor, where a blessing service was held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, followed by 10 a.m. funeral Mass in Sacred Heart of Jesus Polish National Catholic Church, Canonsburg, with the Rev. Joseph Lewandowski officiating.
