Harvey M. Arnold Jr., 85, of Rushville, died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2006 at his residence.

Born Oct. 28, 1920 in Rush County, he was the son of Harvey and Grace (McClure) Arnold, both deceased. He married Genevieve McGhee Sept. 9, 1958; she survives.

Mr. Arnold was a 1938 graduate of Rushville High School and attended Purdue University. He was a sailor on the Great Lakes prior to World War II and served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during the war. A Rush County farmer, he was a member of Little Blue River Church of Christ.

Survivors in addition to his wife include one brother, Clarence "Jake" (and wife Eleanor) Arnold of Rush County; and two nieces, Mary Roller and Judge Barbara (Mrs. Carl) Arnold Harcourt, both of Rush County.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with the Rev. John Skomp officiating. Burial will follow in Rushville's East Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the General Fund at the Rush County Community Foundation or to Little Blue River Church of Christ.
