Graveside services for Mrs. Mary Norrod, 72, of the Green Pond community in Overton County, were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 15, 2005, at Welch Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Doffie Pierce officiating.
Mrs. Norrod died Saturday, Aug. 13 at her son's home in Knoxville. She was a bookkeeper.
Born March 19, 1933, in Overton County, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher and Viola (Lowhorn) Norrod. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Larry Ray Norrod; and 7 brothers, Frank Swicegood, Jessie Norrod, Demsey Norrod, Ted Norrod, Ogle Norrod, Maurice Norrod, and Jim Norrod.
Survivors include 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Brett and Cindy Norrod of Maryville and Steve Norrod and his fianc�e, Rhonda Valentine, of Knoxville; a daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Daniel Stover of Knoxville; a daughter-in-law, Rhonda (Whittewn) Norrod of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Charlie Norrod of New Hampshire; a sister, Faye Thrasher of Monterey; and 10 grandchildren, Tausha Norrod, Bryan Norrod, Stephen Norrod, Savanna Norrod, Ryan Stover, Chase Stover, Gavin Stover, Brittany Norrod, Fletcher Norrod, and Benjamin Norrod.
