Funeral services for Mr. Ted Norrod, 77, of Hanging Limb, were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005, from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey with Rev. Dolphie Pierce and Rev. David Harris officiating.

Burial, with full military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard, was in F.A. Norrod Cemetery.

Mr. Norrod died Sunday, March 13 at his home. He was a retired driller, a member of Green Pond Church, and an Army Air Corp veteran of World War II.

Born December 18, 1927, in Davidson, he was the son of the late Fletcher and Viola (Lowhorn) Norrod. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carlene (Bowman) Norrod; his second wife, Ruby (Rector) Norrod; a son, Teddy Joe Norrod; 5 brothers, Ogle Norrod, James Norrod, Maurice Norrod, and two infants; a half-brother, Frank Swicegood; and a granddaughter, Angie Norrod.

Survivors include 3 sons and 2 daughters-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Sherron Norrod and Terry Randall Norrod, all of Crawford, and Roger Dale and Brenda Norrod of Silver Point; 2 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Ruth Ann and Coy South and Deborah and Wesley Jarrett, all of Crawford; a brother, Charlie D. Norrod of New Hampshire; 2 sisters, Mary Ruth Norrod of Knoxville and Faye Thrasher of Monterey; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren.
