Robert, son of John and Martha Peck Pritchard, was born on his parents' farm in Pleasant Valley where he received his education. As a young man he played baseball with the Pleasant Valley Roughnecks as their third baseman.
Robert and Helen Jones were married September 16, 1929 and they made their home with Martha until her death in 1933.
Farming was done with horses until Robert purchased a John Deere tractor in 1938. Bob and Helen raised Hereford cattle, hogs, milk cows, and chickens.
Robert and Helen were the parents of seven children; June Hand, Delda Klein Johnson, Carolyn Faye, Corene Phllips, Robert Eugene, Corliss Dixon, and Brian Kent. Carolyn died December 7, 1941 from leukemia.
After retiring to Pleasanton, Robert enjoyed all the ballgames at the park and had many words of wisdom for the players!
