Born in Bowens Corners, Oswego Co, NY, she was the daughter of Adelbert & Harriet Abbey Keeney. She was the twin sister of Effie, and sister of Hiram C., Hattie (Kinney), Adelbert, Edna, Albert, Edwin, Pearl (Potter), Justice, Marion L. (Roberts) & Viola Adell (Jackson).

She was the wife of Eugene Joyner. Mother of George E. Joyner.

Born in Osceola, she was the daughter of Adelbert & Harriet Abbey Keeney. On May 19, 1909 she married Eugene Joyner, he died in 1937. She then married Barney Mowers on June 14, 1939, he died in 1943. She was a member of Westdale Federated Church.

REDFIELD- Funeral services for Mrs. Essie Mowers were held from Sanborn Funeral Home, Camden on Thursday. Burial was in North Osceola Cemetery. Her death occurred on August 2, 1954 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Meagher in Westdale following a brief illness.

Mrs. Mowers was born in Osceola on February 27, 1888, a daughter of Adelbert and Harriet (Abby) Kenney. She married Eugene Joyner May 19, 1908. He died in 1937 and she married Barney Mowers, who died in 1943.

She is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Albert Keeney of Camden two sons, Marion Joyner of Westdale and George Joyner of Williamstown. Seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Four brothers: Hiram and Justice Keeney of Osceola; George of Redfield; and Adelbert of Pineville; and three sisters: Mrs. Edna Mellon and Mrs. Edwin Roberts of Utica; and Mrs. Clayton Keeney of Westdale.
