Born in Canada, she was the daughter of Casper and Maria L. Crouse Abbey. She had four half-siblings, Floyd, Celestine (Ackerman), Mary (Ware) and Allen.

She was the wife of Phillip Adelbert Keeney.

Their children were Hiram C., Hattie (Kinney), Adelbert, Edna (Mellen), Effie (Gifford), Essie (Joyner), Justice, Edwin & Pearl (Potter), Marion Louise Keeney & Viola Adell (Jackson).

SUDDEN DEATH IN OSCEOLA

Mrs. Adelbert Keeney Stricken With Heart Disease in Town Hall—Dies in Few Minutes.

Osceola, March 17.—Harriet Abbey* wife of Adelbert Keeney, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Eugene Joyner, after an illness of about 20 minutes, on Monday evening. She and her husband drove from their home in North Osceola, five and one half miles from here, in the afternoon, and went to the town hall where the town board was holding a meeting.

Mr. Keeney was talking to the members of the board on a business matter when hia wife who was with him, was stricken with illness. She was carried to the home of her daughter, Mrs. Joyner, nearby and died later. Heart failure was the cause. She bad been in poor health for a long time but had been able to be around all the time.

Mrs. Keeney was born in Canada 56 years ago. She was married to Mr. Keeney in Fair Haven. Cayuga county, 39 years ago. They lived there for nine years, when they came to this town, where they had since resided. Mr. Keeney was a farmer.

Mrs. Keeney was the mother of 12 children, all of whom are alive, and she was a devoted wife and mother, beloved by all who knew ber. Besides her husband the following children survive: Edward, George, Marion and Harriet, at home; Hiram, Justus, Adelbert jr., Mrs. John Potter, Mrs. Valentine Gifford, Mrs. Eugene Joiner, Osceola; Mrs. Edward Jackson, Horse Guard, Alberta, Canada; Mrs. Benjamin Mellon, Redfield; also two half sisters and a half brother.

The funeral will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Congregational Church in this place. The five sons and a son-in-law, John Potter, will be the bearers. Interment will be made in North Osceola
