She was the daughter of Eugene and Essie Keeney Joyner, sister of Norman, Marvin, George and Edna Joyner.

Wife of Albert Kinney. Mother of Otis, Melvin & Kenneth Kinney.

One of the things Hattie was is thrifty, sometimes too much so! When a couple of her neices stopped over to visit her and Albert she spoke right up and said "Would you two like a piece of apple pie?"

Albert wasn't gonna let this go by "Don't you eat that pie! It's not fit to be ate by anyone!"

Come to find out Hattie had finished a jar of bread & butter pickles, and seeing they were sweet pickles it made sense to use the juice in her apple pie! Albert tossed it out, thrifty or no!
