Sarah was the daughter of Elizabeth Humphreys (1818-1886) and Anthony Webb (1811-1886). She was converted to the Church at age 16 and worked for three years to pay her passage to America. She brought with her many beautiful dresses that were given to her by her employers.

She married Frederick Yeates (1838-1926) on November 9, 1862 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Utah.

Frederick and Sarah Webb came to Millville in 1865, and in 1871 they built a small home across the river.

In 1874, Frederick married Sarah Marie Spackman as a plural wife. Shortly after their marriage, Frederick and his father, George, opened a small store in Millville. He located his second family in part of the store; and he and his wife, Sarah Maria, operated the store in connection with the Post Office.

Sarah Webb and her children continued to manage the farm.
