Mrs. Henry Sowers Dead

Mrs. Florence M. Sowers, a resident of this district 50 years, died at 7:15 o'clock Tuesday night in the Columbus city hospital. Mrs. Sowers suffered a stroke at her home Tuesday of last week, falling and breaking her hip. Her condition had been serious since that time. Mrs. Sowers had been in ill health since last October.

Before moving to the Limestone district in 1900 with her husband, Henry Sowers, she lived in Illinois. She was born in McDonald (sic) County, Illinois, October 14, 1876. Mr. Sowers farmed in the Limestone district for 45 years, retiring and moving to Cherokee in 1945. He still owns the farm.

Survivors include the widower of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Cecile Theising of Moran; two sons, Lloyd of Cherokee and Floyd of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Ollie Ruth of Girard; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Cherokee Presbyterian church with Rev. G.M. Pierce officiating. Interment will be in the Cherokee cemetery. The body will be taken from the Brenner chapel in Pittsburg to the home at 10 o'clock this morning.
