Last Friday, July 31, at the home seven miles northwest of Fairbury, occured the death of Mrs. Harm Junker, after an illness of two years with a complication of diseases, age 60 years and 11 months. Wendelka Stomberg was born in Upleward Enden, Germany, Sept. 1, 1842 and came to America in 1873, was married to Harm Junker in Grundy county, Iowa, the same year. They moved to Jefferson county in 1880. She leaves besides her husband, three sons, and three daughters, Hiddie, and Neal residing at Bower, and Peter at home, Mrs. George Lawrence Meyer of Meridian precinct and Misses Stena and Dena at home. The funeral occurred on Sunday at the German church one mile east of Gladstone conducted by Rev. J. Scherbacher of Western.
