Peter H. Junker of near Fairbury, died in a Fairbury hospital, Wednesday, Febr. 26th, 1930 at the age of 42 years, 7 months, and 16 days. Mr. Junker suffered from blood poisoning or erysipelas starting from a scratch on his hand from a rusty nail nail and was seriously ill for a week before his death. He was brought to a Fairbury hospital on Sunday before his death. Mr. Junker was born July 10, 1887 on a farm near Gladstone, where he lived his entire life and he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Harm and Wendelka Stomberg Junker. Pete attended school at district number 55 near his home. He married Miss Carrie Anna Kaiser, daughter of Wilhelmina Nickel Kaiser, and Franz "Frank" Kaiser, on Feb. 6, 1913, at her parent's home near Western, Nebraska, and four children were born to them. Mr. Junker was a member of the Presbyterian church of Fairbury, and he was engaged in farming about 9 miles northwest of Fairbury. He leaves behind his wife, Carrie, a daughter, Irene and a son Norwood. There are also two brothers, Neal and Hiddie Junker of this county, and two sisters, Dena Junker of Hastings, Nebr., and Christina "Stena", Mrs. Ben Behrends of Diller, Nebr. An infant son, Eugene and 2 year old twin sister of Irene's, Iverna Ellen, preceded Pete in death. Sisters Sarah, and Elizabeth Meyer also preceded him in death. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, also known as "The Junker Cemetery."
