Elizabeth Meyer, wife of George Lawrence Meyer, passed away Sunday very suddenly with some trouble of the heart, at the family home near Bower, Nebraska. Elizabeth Junker was born September 7, 1875, in Iowa, died August 17, 1924, was at the time of hr death, 48 years, 11 months, and 10 days of age. She moved to Jefferson county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harm H. Junker, when five years old, and was married to George Lawrence Meyer at Fairbury, February 4, 1897, who still survives her with their two children, Herman and Laura Meyer. She is also survived by three brothers, Peter H. Junker, near Fairbury, Neal and Hiddie at Daykin and two sisters, Mrs. Ben Behrends of Diller, Nebraska, and Miss Dena Junker of Hastings, Nebraska. Her father, Harm Junker was a resident of Fairbury, passing away about two years ago. Mrs. Meyer leaves many other relatives in this county, as the Junker family is the largest family in this section of Nebraska. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist church of this city, where she was a member. In the absence of Rev. Neal, Rev. Furman officiated. Burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery northwest of Fairbury.
