Benjamin Lower was born in Tulpehocken Twp. Berks Co. PA on December 24, 1786, baptized on Feb 6, 1787, per church records. He was the son of Christian & Elizabeth Ludwig Lauer Lower.

He first married Susanna Miller. They were parents of Sarah (George Smith) & Susan (William Smith) (not related). Susanna died. He then married Catherine R Beckley, 1816 in Berks Co., PA.

About 1820, the family arrived in Coshocton Co. OH. They became the parents of David B (Leah Miller), Daniel B (Leah Moore), Isaac H (Mary Croft), Mary E (Daniel Levengood/Leavengood), Jacob B (Anna Susanna Dietz/Deetz), Rebecca C (Christian C Fisher), Hannah (died at 16yrs), Catherine (Levi Deetz/Dietz), Benjamin (Arminda Ramsey), Mahalah M Mary (Jeremiah Lower) and Rachael (Jeremiah Howell).

Catherine died at the age of 47 yrs in 1843, Benjamin died in Crawford Twp. in 1856 at the age of 69. He was a farmer.

Benjamin and Catherine are interred at Zion United Church of Christ Cemetery. Buried near father Christian Lower, across the road from the church. Submitted by GG Grandson - Peter (Lower) Rodgers
